Premiership Highlights: London Irish v Bath Rugby
- 1177
A nail-biting ending here at the Madejski Stadium as Bath put in a valiant effort to hold the fighting Irish out in a ferocious battle. Banahan got the try-scoring underway in the first half which was answered by Marshall 10 minutes later. There were just 5 points in the difference at halftime thanks to the boot of Freddie Burns. Two teams came out throwing the kitchen sink at each other in the second half and the home side clearly had no intention of rolling over. Burns kept the scoreboard ticking over for Bath but supersub Steele got over the line for Irish with 5 minutes to spare. 4 points separated the sides for the last stretch and Irish gave it their everything but Baths defence shift was immaculate and eventually got them the victory in the end.
