Paolo Odogwu faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines

Wasps utility back Paolo Odogwu looks set to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the club confirmed that he has torn an Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

Wasps confirmed the news on Wednesday stating that an MRI scan revealed that Paolo Odogwu sustained a tear of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during Saturday’s game against Northampton Saints.

He is now set to see a Knee Specialist on Friday for assessment and management planning, the club said.

Odogwu added: “This is obviously a heart-breaking end to probably the best season of my life, but these things happen. There is a long road ahead, but we move, and of course stay composure.”

The injury could keep the explosive back out of action for six to nine months.

Odogwu has been a standout for Wasps this season which earned him a first England test call up and while he missed out on a first senior international cap during the championship, he was widely tipped to feature in England's summer Tests against USA and Canada.
