Emery began his professional rugby journey with the Highlanders in Super Rugby, where he played 39 matches, scored 7 tries, and was a crucial part of the team that clinched the 2015 Super Rugby title. Following his successful stint in New Zealand, he moved to Japan to play for the Sunwolves, where he added another 23 matches and 4 tries to his record.
In addition to his Super Rugby experience, Emery has represented the New Zealand Māori All Blacks, contributing significantly to several successful tours. Emery has made his mark in Major League Rugby (MLR) with Rugby New York and RFC LA. Over two seasons with Rugby New York, Emery has proven to be a consistent performer, helping to elevate the team’s play with his leadership and on-field versatility and helping his team to an MLR championship in 2022.
