Michalak to retire at the end of the season
Lyon utility back Frédéric Michalak has confirmed that he will retire at the end of the current Top 14 season.
The 35-year-old earned 77 caps for France between 2001 and 2015. He also represented France at 3 Rugby World Cups and won the Six Nations with France in 2004 and 2006.
Waratahs sign Curtis Rona
Australia back Curtis Rona has opted to sign a two-year deal with the Waratahs, rather than return to rugby league or head overseas.
Rona played three times for the Wallabies in 2017 and scored on his debut against New Zealand, just a few months after joining Western Force from league side Canterbury Bulldogs.
Louis Schreuder commits his future to the Sharks
Springbok squad member Louis Schreuder has become the latest player to commit his future to the Sharks.
The scrumhalf was named in the Springboks squad for the 2017 November Test and made his debut off the bench against Wales.
Ritchie signs new Edinburgh deal
Edinburgh have re-signed 21-year-old back-row Jamie Ritchie, with the former Scotland U20 captain extending his stay with the club until at least 2020.
He has so far made 39 appearances for Edinburgh. As one of Edinburgh’s most consistent performers this season, Ritchie received his first call-up to the national squad ahead of last month’s Autumn Tests.
