Mitre 10 Cup HIGHLIGHTS: Canterbury v Manawatu
- 1308
Manawatu looked to cause an upset again this year as they went into the break with a 13-12 lead. The dedication on defence was what managed to keep them in the lead. The second half saw Canterbury gain some ascendancy as they went on to score three well-worked tries through Makene, Cameron and Romano. Their second-half performance was enabled by good front foot ball, and minimising their errors on attack. The bench also proved to be a bonus for them as All Black Luke Romano had a good outing both on attack and defence. This ensured that Canterbury earned a bonus point victory bringing them back into a healthy position on the log.
