Luca Sperandio shines in Benetton loss

Benetton Treviso threw everything at Edinburg today but the home side were able to hold onto their 1 point lead to claim their second win of the season.
The home side led 24-15 at the break and extended their lead to 31-15 soon after before Benetton fought back to trail by just one point.

The Italian winger was simply sublime against Edinburgh tonight earning the praise of Scotland legend Chris Paterson.
Sperandio stretched the Edinburgh defence to score two of his tries before saving the best for last when he was tackled placed the ball before getting up to power over the line.
A spectacular man of the match performance by the 22-year-old.

Duhan van der Merwe - Edinburgh Rugby
Sperandio's opposite number was just impressive tonight. The South African dotted down for his side off the back of a brilliant set-piece move from a scrum.
Van der Merwe topped the stats in the metres gained, defenders beaten and shared the top spot for clean breaks made with Sperandio.
He was also solid on defence and made some great try saving tackles.
Marco Barbini - Benetton Treviso
A stellar performance by the Benetton flanker who could have also been named as the man of the match.
He made a game high of 20 tackles and was directly involved in two tries for his side, scoring one and assisting anther.
He made a massive 33 running metres from 7 carries and beat 4 defenders.
Villiame Mata - Edinburgh Rugby
Mata had a tireless performance on attack today making a match-high of 29 carries - 15 carries more than any other player.
He provided superb front foot ball for his side to use as they ran in 4 tries and maintained almost 70% of the possession.
