June Test Highlights: Japan v Italy (Second Test)

Italy edged Japan 25-22 in the second test of the June Internationals. Japan picked up an early yellow card, with Italy running in the opening two tries to build a 12-0 lead. Japan opened their account with a penalty to reduce the deficit to 12-3 at the break. An early second half try for Italy saw the visitors take control of the match at 19-3. With a quarter of the game to play, Japan went over for their first try to get right back into it at 19-10. Shortly after and the game was turned on it's head with another Japanese try cutting the gap to only two points at 19-17. Discipline began to let the hosts down as Italy kept the scoreboard ticking over with two penalties pushing them into a 25-17 lead. A third Japanese try late on set up a tense finish, but Italy would hold on for victory to level the two test series one apiece.
