Julian Savea Leaves Toulon, Heads Back To NZ

All Black winger Julian Savea has cut ties with French Top14 side Toulon and will make his way home to New Zealand at the first opportunity.
Savea joined Toulon in 2018, failing somewhat to have the effect many hoped he would. He described his time in France as “bittersweet” and “not a pretty one either” yet concedes that "the highs definitely outweigh the lows."
"Thank you to those who have supported me over the past two seasons here at RCT. I will forever be thankful for this experience and my time in Toulon.
"Very bittersweet moment not getting to end the season the way I wanted to, but also very excited for this next journey ahead of me. I want to thank all my brothers that I've played with over the past two seasons, you guys are very special to me and I've made some life-long friendships I will cherish forever,” he said.
Savea’s options seem wide open at the moment, highlighting the possibility of either being involved in the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition kicking off on June 13, taking up a contract in Japan or even the NRL.
