Despite being contracted with Leinster and Ireland until 2021, Jonathan Sexton has been linked with a move back to France with Lyon the club reportedly interested with the playmaker according to Midi Olympique.
The bi-weekly paper reported that Jonathan Wisniewski has officially decided to end his career at the end of the current season and Lyon want to replace him with a vastly experienced player with Sexton being their top target.
The other names being linked with the club is that of former All-Black Lima Sopoaga and Wallaby Bernard Foley.
The report went on to say that Sexton still has ambitions in the Top 14 following his stint with Racing 92 between 2013 and 2015.
Lyon are prepared to buy Sexton out of his current deal with Leinster, and would need to do the same with Foley who signed with a Japanese club, and his decision could be made easier if he gets the nod from Ireland head coach Andy Farrell that Ireland are going to give Joey Carbery the Ireland 10 jersey going forward.
Transfer news is a biggie. Lyon are hoping to bring in Johnny Sexton.
