John Mulvihill quits Cardiff Blues
- 2088
Cardiff Blues head coach John Mulvihill has parted ways with the club with immediate effect.
The 55 year old Australian joined the Welsh club in 2018 and signed a contract which was expected to keep him there until the end of the summer, however, it appears that he will take his leave six months early.
Admittedly, Blues have been in better shape, having lost five of their last seven outings – the most recent being a disappointing 17-3 defeat to Ospreys on New Year’s day - and have shown little progess under Mulvihill's guidance. Their average of 13 points per game has heralded grumblings from all quarters and calls for change have now not been ignored.
It is thought that current assistant coach Richard Hodges will shift to the helm for the remainder of the season.
Mulvihill’s next move is uncertain.
