- 1019
Sunday’s Investec Champions Cup Round-of-16 clash with Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens will see Jeremy Loughman make his 100th appearance for Munster after joining the province in December 2017.
Jeremy was initially signed on a three-month development contract and he soon made his senior debut for Munster in a clash against Ulster in Belfast on New Year’s Day 2018.
He also lined out for Munster A where the squad reached the quarter-finals of the B&I Cup.
Loughman’s contract was extended until the end of the 2017/18 season before signing a one-year contract for 2018/19. Jeremy made his first senior Munster start against Zebre in November 2018 before making his Champions Cup debut against Castres the following month.
Loughman signed a one-year contract extension in December 2018 and made 20 appearances across the 2018/19 campaign.
Jeremy continued to impress throughout the 2019/20 season, making 19 appearances, and was rewarded with a two-year contract extension. The prop made 10 appearances across the 2020/21 campaign which included his 50th cap against Ulster in May 2021.
A new two-year deal was signed in January 2022 and he received his first Ireland call-up for the 2022 Six Nations before featuring in both games against the Maori All Blacks on the 2022 Summer Tour to New Zealand.
He made his Ireland debut against Fiji in November 2022 and returned from injury at the perfect time to start all three knock-out games as Munster clinched the URC title.
Jeremy’s form last season was rewarded when he was selected in Andy Farrell’s World Cup squad where he featured in the warm-up matches against England and Samoa before making his World Cup debut against Romania.
Loughman also featured in this year’s Six Nations against Italy and ahead of Sunday’s clash against Northampton, has made 14 appearances for Munster this season.
