Ireland and Munster hooker Damien Varley retires

Ireland and Munster hooker Damian Varley has retired due to injury.



Varley, who has three caps, picked up the foot injury in a training session in July 2013 but did manage to make an appearance against Leinster in October.

However, ongoing symptoms restricted his ability to train and play and following more surgery, he has been advised to retire.



"It is with great sadness that I have to announce my premature retirement," Varley said.
