A strong second half saw the Crusaders cruise to a 40-10 home win over the Sharks in the second quarter-final of Super Rugby. The Crusaders opened the scoring with an early penalty before crossing for two tries in quick succession to storm into a 13-0 lead. The Sharks got back into the match with a try, with the Crusaders slotting a penalty on the stroke of halftime to take a 16-7 lead into the break. The Crusaders got off to the perfect start in the second half, with their third try extending their advantage to 23-7. A Sharks penalty followed to keep the visitors within touching distance at 23-10. The Crusaders then made it a three score ball game with a penalty to take control of the match. The hosts would run in a further two tries to seal an emphatic victory which sees them march on into the semi-finals where they will host the Hurricanes.
