- 1733
After a scrappy start from both sides the scoring didn't get underway until Rob Vickers got over the line with one of his trademark tries from short range. The majority of the action remained with the home side for the first half with another try from Adam Radwan after he showed what his quick feet are capable of. Angus O'Brien managed to keep the Dragons in touching distance with two kicks from penalties resulting in a half time score of 15-6.
Things shifted heavily in the second half with Rynard Landman getting his team a try early on followed by a conversion from O'Brien. Soon after Hewitt dotted down putting the Dragons in the lead for the first time of the afternoon. Gary Graham answered back with a driving maul try converted by Flood from the touchline. The lead shifted again when replacement Pat Howard chased down a kick for a converted try. Newcastle responded with a bonus point try after patient play when Mark Wilson scored with Flood converting. Flood then sealed the deal for the Falcons with a penalty on 76 minutes to extend their lead.
