Hearle, Atkinson and Theobald-Thomas make Gloucester Rugby switch
- 2016
Gloucester Rugby has announced the arrivals of Alex Hearle, Seb Atkinson and Finn Theobald-Thomas from Worcester Warriors. The trio have joined up with the squad this morning.
Hearle, 23, spent six years at Warriors after first appearing for the club whilst still at Shrewsbury College in 2016. Capable of operating in the centre or on the wing, Hearle made over 30 appearances for Worcester, scoring seven tries, including a hat-trick against Exeter Chiefs last season.
20-year-old centre Seb Atkinson also links up with the Cherry & Whites after two years with the Warriors. Atkinson made his senior debut against Gloucester Rugby in the Premiership Rugby Cup and went on to make 9 more senior appearances last season.
England Under 20’s international Finn Theobald-Thomas joins after a year in the Warriors Academy. The 19-year-old hooker marked his professional debut in November 2021 against Bristol Bears.
Chief Operating Officer Alex Brown commented on the arrivals of the former Warriors.
“The opportunity arose to explore bringing in further additions to our squad and we are really pleased to welcome Alex, Seb and Finn.”
“They are three young players who have a very bright future in the game and we’re confident that they will add another layer of depth to our squad.
"Alex really kicked on last season to establish himself as a regular Premiership player, he's got a well-rounded game and is a natural finisher. Seb & Finn are both players who were beginning to make an impact for the Warriors. They are hungry to kick on and develop and we’re confident that they will be able to do that in our environment.”
