Harlequins Women is delighted to announce that quartet Amelia Harper, Ellie Green, Emma Swords and Beth Wilcock have all re-signed with the Club.

Young forward Amelia Harper joined Quins from fellow Allianz Premier 15s side Loughborough Lightning and made an instant impact in her first season in South West London, running out 21 times and scoring three tries throughout the campaign.

The flanker will now be looking to earn a spot back in the England squad in the near future after making her Red Roses debut in Pau during the 2020 Six Nations.

After putting pen to paper, Harper said: “I am excited to be involved for another year with Quins. I’m looking forward to training and playing with a strong set of players and can’t wait to get back on the pitch with a great group of girls.”

Scrum-half Emma Swords will enter her second season with Quins after re-joining the Club from London neighbours Saracens last summer.

After impressing on club duty during the 2021/22 season, Swords was called up to the Wales training squad ahead of the 2022 TikTok Women’s Six Nations. The young back will now be looking showcase her talent as Quins enter a new era under new Head Coach Amy Turner.

Swords added: “The season is something I’m really looking forward to. Big changes have obviously happened, but on a personal level I find that something to really run with and work hard. I’m excited to get stuck in with the new coaching staff, the squad and Club in general.”

Quins fly-half Ellie Green has also extended her stay at the Club. 21-year-old Green joined Harlequins ahead of the 2017/18 season and since then has become a mainstay in Quins’ backline, becoming the leading points scorer in the Allianz Premier 15s.

The back was also named in England’s 2021 Six Nations squad and will be hoping strong performances at the beginning of the season will put her back in national team selection.

Winger Beth Wilcock has also agreed a new deal with Harlequins after missing the majority of the 2021/22 season due to a reoccurring shoulder injury which the back suffered during the first game of the campaign against Loughborough Lightning.

After re-signing, Wilcock said: “I’m honoured to be given another contract by Harlequins after a difficult year of injuries. The excitement to put the Quarters back on alongside this amazing squad is like nothing else. To say I’m raring to go is an understatement.”
