Guilty Messam avoids Super sanction

Chiefs captain Liam Messam has escaped sanction despite being found guilty of contravening a Super Rugby law against the Sharks in Durban.
Messam was cited for a choke hold-style tackle on Sharks flanker Renaldo Bothma during the Chiefs' 12-11 loss on Saturday.
The original charge was for dangerous tackling but Messam admitted to a lesser charge of acts contrary to good sportsmanship.
Judicial hearing chairman Jannie Lubbe said the offence was at the lower end and because of Messam's clean disciplinary record no sanction was put in place.
