There was relief for Gloucester after the ignominy of last weekend at
Northampton, but there was also a good deal of satisfaction for Sale, who
were missing six first-choice players and yet headed home with two bonus
points.
It was an entertaining, if disjointed and error-strewn, match that was lit up
by a fine individual performance from Sale’s Danny
Cipriani.
The fly-half created all three of Sale’s first-half tries
that ushered them into a stunning 17-3 lead and then scored a marvellous one
