Glasgow Warriors vs Sharks: A look at the numbers
- 1106
The Sharks' four game winning streak in both the Challenge Cup and United Rugby Championship was brought to an unfortunate end against the second placed Glasgow Warriors who sit ahead of the Bulls. Three tries in the first half from the Scottish side was enough for them to hold on to a 21-10 victory. While the score can only tell us so much, lets take a quick look at the numbers from the game.
Leading the way with meteres gained is Glasgow Fly-half Tom Jordan with 58 metres gained, from just 8 carries. His 58 metres was only 6 more than his teammate Dobie who came on as a sub.
Facundo Cordero's six defenders beaten saw him finish one better than Warriors eightman and teammate Jack Dempsey who beat 5.
Goerge Horne was again a general with the distribution completing perfect 100 passes on the night, almost doubling the Sharks' Grant Williams who ended on 58.
Sione Tuipulotu was a resolute on attack, after gaining 50 metres off 14 carries, the most off any player on the night. While that can be said about Tuipolotu's attack, the same can be said about Gerbrandt Grobelaars defence.
The Sharks lock completed 23 tackles in an excellent display of defensive masterclass.
