Stormers flyhalf Brandon Thomson has been released from his contract with Western Province Rugby to join the Glasgow Warriors.
The 22-year-old, whose father was born in Scotland, will head to Glasgow on a two-year deal once his fellow flyhalf Rob du Preez has returned to full fitness, which is expected to be in September.
Thomson attended the Western Province Rugby Institute in 2014 and moved through the system well, forming part of the Western Province U21 side that went unbeaten in 2015 under the guidance of current Stormers Head Coach Robbie Fleck.
After also representing the Junior Springboks in 2015, Thomson would go on to make his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers in 2016 and has earned seven caps since.
The 22-year-old impressed during a short loan spell at Glasgow earlier this year and will return to Scotstoun on a two-year deal within the next couple of months.
Thomson played three times for Glasgow and scored a try on his debut against Ulster.
