England Sevens Squad Named for Dubai 7s

Simon Amor has named his England Sevens side for the opening tournament of the 2017/18 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai on 1-2 December.

Drawn in Pool B, the experienced group – captained by Tom Mitchell – will play Spain, France and Scotland on day one.

Horne replaces injured Dunbar

Head Coach Gregor Townsend has made an injury-enforced change to the Scotland team to face Australia in tomorrow’s Autumn test match at BT Murrayfield.

Glasgow Warriors centre Pete Horne – scorer of Scotland’s sixth try in the opening test win over Samoa – replaces Alex Dunbar, who failed to meet the requirements of the graduated return to play protocol for the concussion he sustained against New Zealand last weekend.

Uncapped Edinburgh Rugby centre Phil Burleigh comes into the match-day 23 for the first time to take Horne’s vacated place on the bench.

Springbok Sevens coach, Neil Powell, welcomed back Blitzboks regulars Kyle Brown, Kwagga Smith, Justin Geduld and Seabelo Senatla to his squad for the Dubai Sevens, the opening tournament of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, to be played at The Sevens Stadium on 1 and 2 December.
