Kieran Read confirmed this weekend that he will not extend his contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union following the World Cup in Japan and will look to experience something new or possibly retire.
Understandably, the interest will be high for the All Black captain signature with Read still regarded as one of the best, if not the best, no.8 in the game.
French rugby paper Midi Olympique has reported that French Giants Racing 92 have tabled an offer for 115-test veteran, who has confirmed he will likely finish his playing career overseas after next year’s showpiece event.
Read, who underwent major back surgery at the end of last year, told the NZ Herald earlier in the week that he and his family were leaning towards finishing his career with an overseas experience.
Racing have signed a host of All Blacks in recent times including Dan Carter, Joe Rokocoko and Ali Williams.
