France receive good news ahead of Scotland clash
- 2415
France have received a boost as their showdown with Scotland looms with the news that centre Jonathan Danty has been passed fit and will join the squad in due course.
Danty was involved in Farnce’s Round 1 fixture with Italy but left the field early with ankle trouble.
He was thus initially not included in Fabien Galthie’s 42-man touring party but his positive response to rehab has given him the green light.
Danty is a welcome addition, especially in light of the fact that winger Gabin Villière is out with a fractured sinus, stretching Galthie’s options out wide somewhat, but Danty’s return could see Gaël Fickou shift out to the wing.
Tighthead prop Mohamed Haouas and Lyon centre Pierre-Louis Barassi have also been included in the squad of late.
Matthieu Jalibert is still struggling with a thigh injury.
