Finn Russell receives two-week ban

Finn Russell will miss Scotland’s 6 Nations game against Italy after he was given a two-week ban for his dangerous tackle on Dan Biggar in Scotland’s 26-23 defeat to Wales.

Russell received a yellow card during the game by referee Glen Jackson but the Independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee feel that his tackle on Biggar should  have merited a red card and this is the reason they are giving him a two-week ban.

Russell is now suspended until the Sunday March 1st but the SRU have confirmed that they will appeal the decision and hope to have him available for the Italy game in 10 days time.
