Fiji gave their hopes of causing an upset at
this year’s Rugby World Cup a boost after winning the Pacific Nations Cup.
A 39-29 win over Samoa in the final wrapped up the tournament with Fiji running in five tries, including two from Glasgow Warriors second row Leone Nakarawa.
Fiji’s success is bound to have given England, Wales and Australia something to think about going into Pool A of the World Cup later this year.
Monday’s title makes it three Pacific Nations Cup titles in a row for Fiji after winning their pool in the 2014 tournament and being champions in 2013.
"When we're good we're very very good, but we need to be a lot sharper in not letting teams back into the game, said Fiji head coach John McKee.
