- 3049
The Springboks will return to Paris next week to face Southern Hemispher rivals New Zealand in the world cup final. This comes after a hard fought narrow victory over England in their semi-final fixture tonight. Although the Springboks emerged victorious, the Roses always seemed all the more at ease and in control. Thus here are but a few of tonights to performers
Owen Farrell
Another excellent performance by the English Captain. Back at the number 10 position, Farrell dictated the English backline and led the scoring posting all 15 points for the roses, including a signtaure England drop goal. In 80 mintues played, he completed:
Metres Gained: 12
Kicking Percentage: 100%
Tackles: 6
Turnovers won: 1
Courtney Lawes
Already a force to be reckoned with, Lawes was on the recieving end of the ball after almost every kick off. The flanker frustrated the Springbok lineout constantly, as well making menacing runs from under the high ball. His stellar performance saw him complete:
Metres Gained: 43
Tackles: 5
Lineouts won: 1

Handre Pollard
Perhaps what may become the story of the World Cup. Pollard who didn't make the world cup squad due to injury, returns and saves his country in both the qaurter-final and semi-final. The star Fly-half slotted over the winning points in both games. After being brought on after only 31 minutes, Handre Pollard put in a stellar man of the match performance to lead South Africa to victory over their European rivals.
