Eight Scots included in McGeechan's latest Lions XV

British and Irish Lions legend Sir Ian McGeechan was certainly impressed by Scotland in the opening weekend of the Six Nations.
The former Lions coach selected no less than eight Scottish players into his latest Lions XV, picking just one Englishman in his XV with the Welsh taking three spots and Ireland three.
Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, McGeechan picked Scots Zander Fagerson, Jonny Gray, Hamish Watson and Jamie Ritchie in the pack.
The love for the Scots extended to the backline with debutant Cameron Redpath partnering Ireland's Garry Ringrose with try scorer at Twickenham Duhan van der Merwe and man of the match Stuart Hogg in the back three.
The form-based side will certainly create some debate but it's hard to argue too many of his selections from the weekend's action. After dotting down in the win over Ireland, Louis Rees-Zammit joins Scots Duhan van der Merwe and Hogg in the back three while Conor Murray is partnered with Finn Russell.
Wales' Ken Owens was a titan on defence and packs down in between fellow countryman Wyn Jones and Zander Fagerson. The sole Englishman Maro Itoje features alongside Jonny Gray while CJ Stander starts in the #8 jersey along with Watson and Ritchie.
