Dan Jones agrees new Scarlets deal

Dan Jones, who recently celebrated a century of Scarlets appearances, has signed a new contract to extend his stay at his home region.

The 24-year-old fly-half, who came through the academy system at Parc y Scarlets, becomes the latest player to agree a new deal.

Jones is an integral performer in the No. 10 jersey and is on the verge of reaching the 500-point milestone for the Scarlets.

A Carmarthen product, he came through the Scarlets age-grade pathway and made his senior debut against Cardiff Blues in November 2014. He was a member of the Grand Slam-winning Wales U20s side two years later.

He has been a regular for the Scarlets in the last four seasons and played a crucial role as the side reached the Champions Cup semi-finals in 2017-18.

This season, Jones’s nerveless late penalty sealed a crucial Guinness PRO14 win over Benetton, while he crossed for one of the Scarlets’ five tries in the bonus-point win at London Irish that secured a place in the knockout stages of the European Challenge Cup.
