Damian McKenzie makes a successful return from injury

All Blacks and Chiefs playmaker Damian McKenzie made a successful return from injury for the Chiefs during their Super Rugby pre-season clash with the Blues in Waihi on Friday.
McKenzie featured in his first game since he ruptured his ACL against the Blues during the 2019 Super Rugby season. 4 000 spectators packed into Waihi Athletic Rugby Club to see the two sides in action.

The 24-year-old playmaker entered the game, at fullback, after half time in a game of four quarters which the Blues won 26-19. McKenzie was heavily strapped for the game but had a blazing run upfield with his first touch of the ball and went straight into contact.
McKenzie was satisfied after the game as he was able to get a few touches on his return. Watch his full interview with 1NEWS below:

The Blues scored four tries in the 26-19 victory with the only injury scare for either side was a rib issue for first five-eighth Otere Black, Blues head coach easied the concerns stating that he didn't think it was of too much concern.
