Chris Robshaw off to a losing start in America

The weekend's Major League Rugby kicked off with a doubleheader down in Texas which proved to be an exciting affair with tons of tries being scored between the four sides.
Adam Ashley-Cooper (LA Giltinis) had a brilliant game all round. He remained dominant at the breakdown and made some excellent carriers which helped his team defeat the Toronto Arrows. Fellow countryman and Wallabies legend Matt Giteau (LA Giltinis) had a magnificent game at flyhalf contributing 13 points to the scoreboard. He controlled the speed of play and made numerous line breaks. The Giltinis ran out 16-43 victors against the Toronto Arrows.
Carl Meyer (NOLA Gold) has been the standout performer in the MLR, in every game he has played, he managed to score points whether it's a try or contributing off the tee. He remained dominant on defence and produced a good performance for his side. Despite his best efforts, NOLA finished on the losing end of their result as a late try from Rodrick Waters secured a narrow 15-18 win for the Austin Gilgronis.
It was a losing start for Chris Robshaw as he made his debut for the San Diego Legion. The former England captain made some massive carries which helped Legion secure metres on the park and was as dominate as ever at the breakdown, proving to be difficult for Houston to control. His debut ended on a sour note as he was forced off with an injury late in the second half. There was a bit of South African flavour for San Diego as Cecil Afrika, Joe Pietersen and Bjorn Bassoon combined on the counter-attack to set up a brilliant team try which could ultimately be the try of the weekend.
