Cheetahs bolster squad with three new signings

The Cheetahs have confirmed the signings of three players.
Two of the new signings have linked up with the squad already as training resumed following a break.
Sharks fullback Rhyno Smith has joined the side on a 5-week loan deal. The 25-year-old played for the Sharks in Super Rugby and in the Currie Cup and the Sharks XV in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge. Primarily a fullback, Smith can also play fly-half and wing.
Griquas lock Sintu Manjezi, 23, joins the Cheetahs on a two-year deal having represented the Griquas in the Currie Cup and in the Rugby Challenge.
Tapiwa Mafura has also signed a two-year deal with the Cheetahs will join the side early next month. The 22-year-old exciting and versatile Leopards and North West University fullback capped off a memorable season with selection into the 2018 Varsity Cup Dream Team XV.
He excelled in SA schools’ rugby starring in fly-half, wing and fullback before moving to fullback. Mafura’s big break came under the current Leopards and NWU Varsity Cup coach Jonathan Mokuena, who included him in the senior Leopards team for the SuperSport Rugby Challenge in 2017.
