Champions Cup Players of the Day

Champions Cup Players of the Day

Round 4 of the Champions Cup kicked off on Friday evening with Ulster and Exeter Chiefs both claiming bonus point victories.

Here our players of the day:

Louis Ludik - Ulster

The South African was a threat every single time he touched the ball and carved up 101 running metres during the clash. He also played at fullback and wing and was equally impressive in both positions.

Billy Burns - Ulster

Burns had an exceptional game for Ulster and was rightfully named the man of the match. His kicks out of hand were pinpoint, one of which led to a try for Jacob Stockdale.

He dictated play and combined nicely with the players around him as Ulster took the game away from the Scarlets.

Iain Henderson - Ulster

Henderson grabbed two tries from close range for the home side as they beat Scarlet 30-15.

He was powerful with all 13 of his carries and weighed-in with 12 tackles. His lineout work was solid and failed to miss a tackle all evening.

Gareth Davies - Scarlets

The lively halfback was one of Scarlets most potent weapons against Ulster racking 93 running metres.

He tested the defence around the fringes regularly making 2 clean breaks, beating 2 defenders and got a try assist.

He also put in a clever kick through, after Scarlets turned the ball over inside their 22, that came off the post and into the path of Jonathan Davies.

Jack Yeandle - Exeter Chiefs

The skipper led from the front throughout as the center piece of a dominant scrum and powerful maul for which he was rewarded with a try in a man of the match performance.

He also put in a full 80 minute shift making 12 carries and 9 tackles.

Sam Hill - Exeter Chiefs

Showed great strength with a number of powerful carries getting Exeter over the advantage line.

He finished the game with a 15 carries just one off of Ben Morgan.

Franco Mostert and Don Armand - Gloucester and Exeter Chiefs

Tremendous work rate from both players who were all over the field, Mostert making countless number of tackle and Armand with some strong carries and crashed over for a try.

Jason Woodward - Gloucester

Finished off two tries for the visitors which gave them hope of stealing a result.

He was in the right place at the right time to finish off the try from Jaco Visage's deflected pass before finishing off another try in the corner with the cover defence doing its utmost to take him out.

Santiago Cordero - Exeter Chiefs

Some outrageous footwork with limited opportunities, the little pocket rocket threatened the Gloucester defence much like he did last week.
