Champions Cup - A Look At The Pool Leaders

Toulouse, Saracens and Racing 92 are the only sides in the Champions Cup to register 3 wins in the opening 3 rounds of this seasons tournament. They top their pools along with Munster, also unbeaten but have a draw, and Edinburgh. Here is a look at the Top 5 and their current form.

Pool 1 - Toulouse:

Toulouse have rekindled their form in Europe and will be looking to go all the way and win another title. They are on an 8 game winning streak in all competitions and have registered wins over Bath, Leinster & Wasps along the way. They have scored just 8 tries so far this season which is the lowest of any of the Pool leaders this season. They face Wasps in Round 4 who are at the bottom of the table with 3 points

Pool 2 - Munster:

Since the draw against Exeter Chiefs in this competition, Munster have gone on a 6 game winning streak in all competitions. Their 2 recent victims, Edinburgh and Castres have taken heavy defeats. Munster have the 4th highest points difference in the 2018/19 Competition to date. Munster face Castres in Round 4, the current Top 14 Champions are on the bottom of the table with 5 points

Pool 3 - Saracens:

Saracens are on a 21 game winning streak in all competitions and last lost a game to Leinster in last seasons Champions Cup Quarter Final. they have the equal highest points difference in the competition with +55 and come off a 51-25 win over Cardiff Blues in Round 3.  Saracens face the same opponents today in the return fixture. 

Pool 4 - Racing 92:

12 tries in 3 games for the Racing 92 side as they look to kick on in Europe this season. A 36-26 win over Leicester Tigers last week was the perfect start to this Champions Cup block as they look to shake the myth that the French clubs don't travel well when facing the Tigers again in round 4. Nakarawa, Russell, Vakatawa and Zebo are just a few of the deadly strike weapons they have. 

Pool 5 - Edinburgh:

One of the tighest groups, Edinburgh lead the way on 11 points but are chased by their opponents, Newcastle Falcons who sit in 2nd spot. This group is still wide open and one to watch with Ediburgh on 11 points, Newcastle on 8 and both Montepllier and Toulon on 6. Viliame Mata and Sinoti Sinoti are the ones to watch this weekend as well as Mark Wilson who returns after missing last weeks game.
