A dominant second half performance from the Hurricanes saw them run out 35-16 away winners over the Brumbies in the quarter-finals of Super Rugby. Both sides crossed for two first half tries, with the Brumbies slotting two penalties to the one by the Hurricanes as the hosts led 16-15 at the break.
Despite starting the second half a man down due to a late yellow card picked up at the end of the first half, it was one way traffic with wave upon wave of Hurricanes attack.
The pressure began to tell as the Hurricanes added two penalties to lead 21-16 with 15 minutes remaining. The dam wall finally burst as the Hurricanes ran in a further two tries to seal the victory and march on into the semi-finals.
