British & Irish Lions Series to be played behind closed doors

The British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa is set to be held behind closed doors.

Fans from Ireland or the UK will not be permitted to travel to the Republic for the tour.

A revised schedule has been issued with British and Irish Lions playing all of their matches in the Western Cape and Gauteng with games in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

The warm-up game against Japan at Murrayfield will still proceed as planned on Saturday 26th June with a kick off time still to be confirmed.

There is also one team change in the revised schedule with the Lions replacing the SA Invitational team.

The adjustment was made to reduce the risks associated with drawing a squad from around the country.
