Bristol Hammer Bath At Ashton Gate!

The Bristol Bears put on a near flawless display as they thrashed Bath 48-3 in round 7 of the Premiership. Bristol got off to a fast start, with two tries inside the opening ten minutes. The first saw Ioan Lloyd throw a superb cut out pass to send Luke Morahan over untouched, the second Charles Piutau rounding off after a brilliant Piers O'Connor break.

Rhys Priestland kicked Bath on the board with a penalty, but that was cancelled out by a Lloyd shot at goal shortly after. A brilliant snipe from man of the match Andy Uren saw him race in for the Bears third try to extend their lead out to 20-3. Rhys Priestland picked up a yellow card for a deliberate knock on around the half hour mark and Bristol capitalised with two Bryan Byrne tries inside the final five minutes of the first half, Charles Piutau setting up the first with an amazing offload in contact, the second off the back of a strong maul.

Bristol started the second half as they ended the first, with Semi Radradra at his rampant best as he broke the line from well inside his own half and showed tremendous pace to race in for the score. A penalty try from another strong maul made it try number seven for Bristol after 52 minutes of play, with Josh Bayliss picking up the second yellow card of the night for Bath in the process.

The final quarter of the match saw both sides looking to run from everywhere in a frenetic whirlwind of action, but neither was able to add to the scoreline with Bristol preventing Bath from crossing the whitewash. A statement victory for the Bristol Bears which is their biggest ever win in the Premiership.
