Brad Weber makes one last claim for an All Black recall
- 2034
The final halfback spot in the All Blacks' Rugby World Cup squad has been a hot topic throughout the Super Rugby season with Brad Weber the leading candidate for pundits and fans alike.
Weber has just test cap to his name after coming off the bench for Andy Ellis against Samoa in July 2015.
The 28-year-old missed out on a place in the All Blacks World Cup squad that won the tournament in England but could force his way into the squad four years later.
Steve Hansen has preferred Weber's club mate Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi as the All Blacks third choice since Tawera Kerr-Barlow left New Zealand for Top 14 club La Rochelle.
Tahuriorangi spent the season as back up to Weber for the second year in a row with Weber leading and staring for the Chiefs as they reached the Super Rugby quarter-finals before being knocked out by the Jaguares.
In the Chiefs final game of the season, Weber made one last claim for a recall setting up a superb try for flanker Lachlan Boshier as he threw a lovely dummy from the base of the ruck and sprinted through defence before putting Boshier through.
Brad Weber at his best!
