Bledisloe One Top Peformers
- 2486
The All Blacks went 1-0 in the race for the Bledisloe Cup beating the Wallabies 13-38 in Sydney.
Here are our Top Performers from the clash:
Jack Goodhue
A fantastic Rugby Championship/ Bledisloe Cup debut from the young Crusaders centre.
He was industrious on attack setting up and scoring his first test try early in the second half.
His defence was resolute making all 11 of his attempted tackles and won a turnover for his side.
David Pocock
The Wallaby flanker was industrious throughout the game making 18 tackles and 4 turnovers.
No player more turnovers or tackles than the 30-year-old flanker.
Beauden Barrett
Barrett responded brilliantly to the calls for him to be dropped for Richie Mo'unga by putting in a match-winning performance for the All Blacks.
He was outstanding on attack and was credited with two try assists and grabbed one for himself as well.
He kept the All Blacks attack firing making over 80 running metres beating 2 defenders and made 3 clean breaks.
His 57% success from the tee will be Steven Hanson's only concern.
Brodie Retallick & Sam Whitelock
It's easy to see why the All Black combination of Retallick and Whitelock is widely regarded as the best in world.
The pair caused havoc at the Wallabies lineout stealing 7 of their lineouts while Retallick was extremely impressive on attack making 57 running metres from his 10 carries.
Retallick capped off his return to test rugby with a superb dummy that saw him slice through the Wallabies defence.
At 29-years-old Whitelock made his 100th appearance in the black jersey becoming just the 8th New Zealander to reach the milestone.
