Bigi called up to replace injured Manfredi for Scotland clash

Marco Manfredi will not be available for Italy's match against Scotland after Zebre Parma hooker underwent instrumental tests on the morning of Monday 4 March which highlighted a muscular distraction of the soleus of his left calf.

Mandfredi will return to Zebre where he will continue with his recovery process.

Luca Bigi, who also plays for Zebre Parma was called up to the national team to replace Manfredi. Bigi boasts a strong amount of experience having notched up 48 caps in an Azzurri jersey, 13 of which he ran on as captain returns to the Italian side having participated in the 2023 Rugby World Cup without taking the field due to an injury the same week as Italu's Uruguay fixture.
