Bernard Foley - Time To Step Up
- 2155
Quade Cooper had his chance to shine last weekend when Australia faced South Africa, but now it’s Bernard Foley’s turn to impress.
The Waratahs number ten wasn’t involved in the matchday squad that defeated the Springboks in Brisbane, having been rested by head coach Michael Cheika.
Foley was outstanding for the Wallabies and Waratahs last year in what was his first real season of international rugby.
Back in the number ten shirt to face Argentina in Mendoza, Foley admits that while sitting out might be frustrating, having quality strength in depth will serve the Wallabies well in the long-term.
"Having players who can just come in and feel the job is definitely beneficial for the squad," Foley told Rugby Heaven in Australia.
"As playmakers, you want time and consistency in forming those combinations, with the players out wide and with the forwards.
"It's a bit of yin and yang. It's fantastic to have guys come in and bring their own flavour but as a playmaker, you certainly want time in the saddle.”
