Another injury blow for RG Snyman
- 2300
Springbok and Munster lock RG Snyman has suffered a significant setback during his rehabilitation, the 2,06 m giant now requiring minor surgery which will delay his return to the pitch by another few weeks.
It is said that the current issue is knee-related, but not resulting from the same ACL injury which he sustained during his Munster debut in August last year.
Munster head coach Johann van Graan was hoping to have Snyman back on the pitch before the current Pro14 reaches its conclusion, but that notion has now been thrown into doubt.
The news will also come as a great disappointment to Springbok bosses Rassie Erasmus and Jacques Nienaber, who would’ve liked to have had Snyman available for selection when South Africa take on the British & Irish Lions in July. While that possibility is not formally ruled out at the moment, it remains to be seen whether Snyman can be ready in time.
