The Newcastle Falcons ground out a 31-19 home win over Gloucester in round 4 of the Anglo-Welsh Cup. The Newcastle Falcons ran in three first half tries to two to take a 21-14 lead into the break. An early second half Newcastle Falcons try was followed by a penalty as the hosts took control of the match leading 31-14. Gloucester crossed for their third try to give themselves a chance trailing 31-19 with around 15 minutes to play. However, their would be no come back as the Newcastle Falcons held on to secure the victory.
