Ali Williams' Toulon secure third successive European Cup

Toulon became the first rugby club to win three successive European Cups when it nosed in front of Clermont Auvergne and held on 24-18 in a quality all-French final at Twickenham this morning.

Clermont scored the first tries in each half, but went off the boil and allowed Toulon to produce the game-changing tries.

The first, to center Mathieu Bastareaud in first-half injury time, gave Toulon the lead for the first time.

The second, to winger Drew Mitchell with 10 minutes to go, proved to be the match-winner, and one of the great tries in tournament history.
