Benetton Rugby announced skills coach Alessandro Troncon, will be taking over the reigns as frontline coach next season for the green-and-whites.
In his coaching curriculum, Troncon boasts experience as head having coached Italy's under 20, as well as Zebre Rugby. His new role within the coaching staff will be directed by Marco Bortolami.
In cascade, the new skills coach of the Lions will be Dewaldt Duvenage. The captain of the green-and-whites, who arrived in Treviso in 2018, signed a player-coach contract last month which will see him fill the role of assistant with the task of honing the technical skills of the Lions.
“I am very happy that Alessandro Troncon takes responsibility for the attack. I think he's the right person to make the changes we plan to make to evolve our attack system. Every year we try to bring something new, implementing what needs to work best and this is a great opportunity.”
These are the words of Marco Bortolami , head coach of the Leoni, who then continued by saying: “Dewaldt will gradually assume responsibility for individual technique, it will be a year of transition for him. He will bring what he can still give to the field but will also start contributing from a technical point of view to have a gradual transition when his role changes definitively. I think it's very important news because Duvenage has been a point of reference in recent years and will continue to be so in the future. This is concrete proof of how the club rewards people who bring added value with what they do."
