Ackermann names 40-man Lions squad for Super Rugby

Lions Head Coach Johan Ackermann has confirmed his 40-man squad ahead of the 2017 Super Rugby season.
No.8 Warren Whiteley is set to captain the side again this season as the Johannesburg based side look to build on last season's success.
Faf de Klerk, Warren Whiteley and Rohan Combrinck are amongst the 9 Springboks named in the squad that includes Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Elton Jantjies, Jaco Kriel, Lionel Mapoe, Malcolm Marx and Franco Mostert.
The squad also bolsters Blitsbok Kwagga Smith.
The Lions kick their campaign off in Bloemfontein against the Cheetahs on the 25th of February.
