A look into what happened the last time Wales met South Africa

The first time South Africa and Wales met in a test match was on the 1st of December 1906 at the St Helens ground in Swansea. The score was 11-3 to South Africa.

Of the 40 matches played to date, South Africa have won 32, with one draw and seven wins for Wales.  

The last time these two sides met was on July 16, 2022, at the Cape Town Stadium in a much-anticipated test decider.  

South Africa came out on top in a decisive third test against the Dragons, winning 30-14 to secure the series 2-1. 

Flyhalf Handre Polland scored 20 points, including the first try, as the world champions outscored the tourists three tries to one. 

Bongi Mbonambi and captain Siya Kolisi added the other Springbok tries with Pollard kicking three conversions and three penalties.
