Ruan Pienaar
Ruan Pienaar was the stand out performer in his sides comprehensive victory over a struggling Glasgow side in this afternoon’s PRO 12 clash. In his first game back after a long injury spell on the side line he showed no signs of rustiness and slotted back into the familiar number 9 jersey with ease. He marshalled the back line expertly knowing when to distribute and when to go himself. He was also excellent from the tee, slotting 4/6 of his place kicks. This exceptional performance was a reminder to all Ulster fans of what they’ve been missing in his absence.
Jacob Stockdale
The young wide man was called into action earlier than anticipated following an injury to Louis Ludik after just 13 minutes of play. However, Stockdale hit the ground running slotting into a fast-paced Ulster attacking unit comfortably. He was a menace throughout with his blistering pace and dazzling footwork. He had the Ulster defenders guessing at all times and his excellent play was rewarded with two beautiful second half tries. Stockdale continues to improve game by game and looks a real international prospect for the future.

The man of the match award in this phenomenal team performance by Ulster went to the South African back row forward Marcell Coetzee. He was a dog at the breakdown, never giving Glasgow a moment, constantly keeping them under pressure and forcing an abundance of errors. He carried impressively and was a brick wall in defence making countless hits and forcing Glasgow back over the gain line again and again. The Ulster faithful will be looking forward to seeing more of this powerhouse in action as the season continues.
