However just a few minutes later Toulouse were also down to 14 players after picking up a yellow card. Ulster scored a try ten minutes in, with the sides trading penalties thereafter as Ulster led 10-6. Toulouse responded with a try around the midpoint of the half and a second score followed five minutes later as they hit the front 20-10. However, a late Ulster try just before halftime sees them up by three points on aggregate, despite being three points down in the second leg.
