Ulster really in the ascendency now, going close to rumbling over after a good maul. North comes in the side and brings it down, conceding a penalty. Ulster go to the corner, and after another maul Bowe gets the ball on the wing and steps North to finish in the corner. Ulster lead 10-3, 27 minutes gone.

After a poor clearance kick from Trimble, the Scarlets get the chance to run the ball back from inside the Ulster half, and after a number of phases Johann Muller is penalised for not rolling away. Williams however strikes the upright to leave the scores level, 18 minutes gone.
15 minutes gone and though the opening period has been lively, it has been riddled by mistakes and indiscipline from both sides. The Scarlets have had more of the ball but are repeatedly coughing the ball up.
