
Ulster take a 22-0 lead over Cardiff into halftime. Ulster struck with a try seven minutes in to lead 7-0. Cardiff picked up a yellow card after 12 minutes and Ulster slotted the resulting penalty to extend their lead. It was all Ulster who crossed for try number two shortly after to open up a 17-0 lead. Ulster ran in their third try with the final play of the first half for a comfortable lead at the break.
